What to expect when you plan your project with Unity Painting.
What happens after I request an estimate?
After you submit your request, we’ll review the project details and contact you to discuss the scope and determine the next step. Depending on the project, we may be able to review photos first or schedule an on-site visit. Once we understand the work involved, you’ll receive a clear written estimate outlining the proposed scope.
What is included in my painting estimate?
Your written estimate will describe the agreed scope of work, including the surfaces being painted, preparation included, coatings or products specified where applicable, and the price for the work described. If additional work is discovered or requested after the project begins, we’ll discuss it with you before proceeding.
Are estimates free?
Yes. Unity Painting provides free estimates for painting and property-care projects. Tell us a little about the work you’re considering and we’ll review the scope with you before providing pricing. There’s no obligation to move forward.
Do you repair drywall before painting?
Yes. Unity Painting can handle patching, minor surface repairs and texture matching as part of a painting project so walls and ceilings are properly prepared before the finish coats are applied. If you have damaged areas, include a description or photos when requesting your estimate.
What should I do to prepare before painting begins?
We’ll let you know what needs to be done before your project begins. In general, we ask customers to remove fragile or valuable items, wall decorations and small personal belongings from the work area. We take care of protecting the surfaces and surrounding areas included in our work plan and will discuss furniture or other access needs with you beforehand.
How long will my painting project take?
Every project is different. The schedule depends on the size of the project, surface condition, preparation required, number of coats and, for exterior work, weather conditions. We’ll discuss the expected schedule with you before work begins and keep you informed if conditions affect the timeline.
Do you work in occupied homes and multifamily properties?
Yes. We regularly work in occupied homes and properties and plan the project around access, scheduling and the people using the space. For multifamily and commercial projects, we can coordinate the work with property managers and general contractors to help minimize disruption.
Can you help me choose paint colors and products?
Yes. We can help you choose appropriate paint products, sheens and colors based on the surface, room or exterior conditions and the finish you’re looking for. We commonly work with professional-quality coatings and can discuss the best options for your particular project.
